Working Group Objective:
To develop a standard approach for conducting joint factory assessments on behalf of the APUG members for manufacturers of business critical equipment and their production processes.

Benefits:

• Establishes a common standard promoting health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Reduces duplication and the costs of conducting assessments between the utilities and their suppliers.
• Enables members to qualify the capabilities of new and emerging sources of supply.

Status:

• Assessments are conducted to a defined protocol that has been agreed by the members.
• Factory assessments completed include manufacturer’s of Medium and High Voltage Underground Cables, Protection Relays and Control Systems, High Voltage Circuit Breakers and Gas Insulated Switchgear, High Voltage Power and Current Transformers, Porcelain, Glass and Polymeric Insulators, Bare Aluminium Overhead Conductors and Helical Fittings from China and across the Asia Pacific region.
