Overview

APUG for Utilities

Utilities worldwide are facing a number of common challenges including significant increases in capital works programmes, scarcity of supply, escalating commodity prices and a greater emphasis on sustainability and corporate responsibility to name just a few. For Procurement Managers these represent a significant challenge if they are to meet their future operating requirements and manage the risks to their businesses associated with their supply chains.

Through APUG and the Project Working Groups members can address these challenges collectively, learning from each other and sharing in the identification and development of common solutions. By working collaboratively members have greater visibility of industry practices and can reduce the costs, time and risks for their individual companies.

APUG members use shared supplier management systems to source and assess suppliers for future business opportunities. By standardising and centralising the collection and validation of information on suppliers to the industry, APUG members obtain greater visibility of the available supply market, and reduce the administrative cost and risk in managing this information for their companies and their suppliers.
