January 15, 2010 – The Asia Pacific Factory Assessment System, or AP FAS, is a new service to both buyers and suppliers. AP FAS address the physical validation (on-site) of evidence regarding a supplier’s capability, competence and compliance within agreed parameters. The audit and assessment services are a natural extension to the assurance process - the existing supply chain management services (APUG SMS) provided by Achilles.
AP FAS is focused on Safety, Health, the Environment and Quality (SHEQ) assessments and by registering on AP FAS, suppliers and contractors will gain a clear understanding of the industry’s requirements. The assessments generate detailed reports of the company’s capabilities that may be used both as an aid to sourcing for the Utilities but also as valuable guidance on improvements for the company being assessed.
AP FAS will be integrated with the APUG SMS (Supplier Management System) which is accessed everyday by 25 leading Asia Pacific utility companies. The audit protocols are developed jointly with the APUG committee to ensure it fits the needs of all the utility companies in Asia Pacific, and worldwide.
