Change of Name to APUG Supplier Management System (APUG SMS)

Change of Name to APUG Supplier Management System (APUG SMS)

September 4, 2009 – The “Asia Pacific Utilities Group Supplier Information System (APUG SIS)” will now be known as the “Asia Pacific Utilities Group Supplier Management System (APUG SMS).”

This name change was decided at the last meeting of the APUG Steering Group, to reflect the very positive view that most APUG buyer organizations are committed to grow the System and to use it more comprehensively to help manage suppliers. APUG SMS continues to provide supplier information in one place, easily accessible for all APUG buyers when managing their tender and contract lists. The System also enables suppliers to manage their information availability by updating it whenever changes occur, to ensure their information always reflects their capabilities and current contact details.

If you are an existing user of the System, there will be no change to your existing agreements, contracts or terms and conditions. Any new documents sent to you will reflect the new name, and your existing rights and obligations will simply apply as they did before to both the new and old documents.

These developments are a very positive sign of the growth and expansion of the APUG SMS. There are now 25 buyer organizations, with several more considering membership. At the same meeting, the Steering Group agreed to the development of plans to expand the spread and depth of usage of the APUG SMS, thus ensuring the continued growth of the system.
