Power Utilities from India join APUG
09 May 2008 – Jindal Power and CESC have both recently joined APUG further expanding the network of buyers and suppliers across India and the Asia Pacific Region.
Jindal Power Limited (JPL), is a power generating company formed in 1995, as a subsidiary of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL). It has a coal based capacity of 1000 MW (4 x 250 MW) at the O.P. Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant near Village Tamnar in Raigarh District in the State of Chhattisgarh, India. The Company has obtained the Mega Power Status from the Government of India. JPL plans to add more power producing capacity and has an aggressive blueprint to increase domestic power production to help contribute towards achieving the Government of India’s goal of affordable power for all by 2012.
JSPL, as part of the US$8 billion Jindal Organization with businesses covering Steel, Power Generation, Mining, and Heavy Machinery, has significant experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of thermal power plants.
