The Asia Pacific Factory Assessment System, or AP FAS, is a new service to both buyers and suppliers. AP FAS address the physical validation (on-site) of evidence regarding a supplier’s capability, competence and compliance within agreed parameters. The audit and assessment services are a natural extension to the assurance process - the existing supply chain management services (APUG SMS) provided by Achilles.

Colin Maund, CEO of The Achilles Group was awarded with Ernst & Young’s UK Entrepreneur of the Year Award® 2009 for IT Services, at a reception sponsored by the CBI, in London on the evening of the 6th October. Colin was selected from a shortlist of 4 finalists in this category, all of whom had demonstrated determination, foresight and inspiration to reach this stage of the competition. The judges were particularly impressed by the innovative idea behind Achilles and by the global approach that the company has taken since its inception in 2001.

Appointment of Regional Director, Asia Pacific – Owen West
April 15, 2009
On his return to live in Australia, Owen West formerly Regional Director of UK and Ireland, has agreed to fulfill the role of Regional Director, Asia-Pacific based in Brisbane although Owen expects to be visiting Hong Kong regularly.
Owen was previously Procurement Manager for Powerlink Queensland, an electricity transmission company. He was also non-executive Director of three other Australian transmission network companies - ElectraNet Pty Ltd, ETS Pty Ltd and ETI Pty Ltd.

e-Qual: New Release!

The latest release of e-Qual was launched to live on Monday 30th June, providing enhanced navigation and functionality to buyers and suppliers. This signifies the completion of a 2 stage project, with input from UVDB, Supply Line, Connexio and Sellihca helping identify key improvements. These included the facility for buyers to attach documents, download reports and an email reminder facility. Suppliers also have a new reporting tool whilst all users benefit from improved views and navigation – the system is also now compatible with Firefox browsers.

New Zealand Utilities meet in Wellington

Held at their new 5 Star rated commercial office building on Wellington's waterfront, ten utilities attended the meeting with a guest appearance from Alan Jenkins, Chief Executive of the Electricity Networks Association (ENA). Amongst the invited guests were Vector, Northpower, Connetics, Genesis Energy, Todd Energy, Mighty River Power, Contact Energy and Liquigas.
